A TEENAGER'S first holiday abroad ended in tragedy after he was killed in a cycling accident.
Just three days into a trip to Spain with two fellow cyclists, 18-year-old Peter Foster's bike was hit by a lorry and he died instantly.
The A-level student was enjoying his first holiday abroad with two fellow cyclists, Ian Taylor and Kirk Robb, when he was hit by a lorry.
It is thought he was killed outright by the impact after suffering severe head injuries.
The tragedy happened on Monday as the trio cycled along a road in Alicante.
It is thought he tried to overtake a slow-moving lorry on the inside unaware it was about to turn right.
He braked hard but went under the lorry's wheels.
Peter's sister Helen, 21, added: "The place is going to be so quiet without him."
The former King George V Comprehensive School pupil had been studying A-levels in physics, psychology and sports science as a sixth form student at St Joseph's Comprehensive in Hebburn.
His family told how he had recently secured a place at Kingston University in London to study aircraft engineering, and dreamed of becoming an aircraft engineer.
