NORTH-EAST soldiers have gone on parade for the final medal presentation ceremony arising from their active duty in Afghanistan.
Troops from K (Hondeghem) Battery, 5th Regiment Royal Artillery, based at Marne Barracks in Catterick Garrison, lined up ar Richmond Castle this morning.
The medal parade is the culmination of a very successful period on operations which saw the end of Operation Herrick in Helmand province in Afghanistan as well as the start of the NATO support mission (Operation Toral) in the Afghan capital, Kabul.
The medals will be presented for service during Op Herrick 20, which ran from May to November last year and Operation Toral, which ran from October 2014 to March 2015.
