A SPONSORED dog walk has been held to raise money for charity.
Twenty people together with ten dogs turned out on Saturday morning to raise money for the Peterlee Mayor's Charity Appeal, which includes Help for Heroes, the Back Up Trust, Hartlepool and District Hospice, the MS Society and local youth groups.
Woof in the Woods was held through the Castle Eden Dene in Peterlee.
Among the dogs were two large Newfoundlands and a white Husky, and an assortment of smaller dogs.
The mayor, Councillor Don Milsom, said: “There were no arguments or loud barking. I want to thank everyone who turned out, particularly the dogs, who were very well behaved.
“I would also like to thank the dene staff, volunteers and the local police for their valuable assistance."
Event organiser David Taylor-Gooby said he was impressed by the response to the event.
He said: “It looks as if we have raised over £500. Well done everyone.”
