POLICE in North Yorkshire dealt with a number of road accidents over the weekend.
A Citroen was involved in a collision in Bramper Lane, Northallerton, on Sunday. The occupants were not seriously hurt.
On Saturday, three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash on the A170 between Helmsley and Sutton Bank. The accident occurred at about 7.50am.
A police spokeswoman said three people had suffered what were believed to be minor injuries in the crash and would be taken to hospital as a precaution.
The road was blocked while police awaited recovery of the damaged vehicles, and motorists were advised to expect heavy delays.
In York, a driver was arrested on drink and drugs charges after a car overturned in an accident in St Helen's Road just after 9am on Saturday.
The vehicle, believed to be a white Seat Leon, came to rest on its side with both front airbags deployed.
Police said the driver of the vehicle - believed to be a man in his 20s- had been arrested on suspicion of drink driving and had attempted to leave the scene.
