FAB! The wonderful world of marionette master Gerry Anderson is coming to the region.

Original props, scenery, uniforms, puppets and spaceships from some of the most popular TV shows of yesteryear will be taking centre stage at a fast-growing sci-fi convention.

Gerry Anderson’s futuristic puppet spectaculars still command a huge following.

Hit shows like Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, Space Precinct, Joe 90, Stingray, Terrahawks and Space 1999 were once TV staples – and Thunderbirds is about to return to the small screen.

Sci-Fi Scarborough, at the resort’s Spa Complex on March 14 and 15, is also bringing together technicians from the shows to talk to fans about their creations.

Also there will be Shane Rimmer, who provided the voice of Thunderbird One pilot Scott Tracy and David Graham – the voices of Parker, Brains, Gordon Tracy and Kyrano - who is now reprising his role of Parker for the 2015 reboot.

And Gerry Anderson’s son Jamie, who is currently working on his own show Firestorm, will also be there to talk about his father’s work.

Sci-Fi Scarborough – now in its second year – will also include guests from the world of Star Wars, including Darth Vader actor Dave Prowse, and a host of other film, TV and comic-related events.
