POLICE have urged householders to be vigilant after a spate of burglaries.
Five break-ins have been reported in Catterick Village, North Yorkshire, in recent days.
On Wednesday, February 4 between 6pm and 9pm, thieves attempted to break into a property on Vickers Road by forcing the rear door, however they failed to gain entry.
Sometime on Sunday night or early Monday morning, offenders managed to force the kitchen window of a house in Oran Lane. It is not known if anything was stolen.
Three further incidents took place on Monday. A groundfloor window of a property in Mowbray Road was forced between 6am and 5.30pm.
Thieves stole cash, an iPad and aftershave.
Someone attempted to force a window of a property in Oran Lane between 4.40pm and 6.50pm, although no entry was gained.
Finally, a rear window of a house in Brough Meadows was forced open between 1pm and 5.45pm. Jewellery and cash was stolen.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said: "Police are urging residents in the area to be vigilant and report any suspicious people or vehicles to the police on 101 – select option 1 – and pass information to the force control room."
