CHESTER-le-Street’s art hub WillyNillie is holding an exhibition of work from its community-based You Are Here arts project.
WillyNillie, which is based in a former greengrocery in the town’s Front Street, is a community interest, not-for-profit company that provides art and craft workshops.
Its project, which is funded by Arts Council England, brings together artwork produced in workshops with local people, and will be exhibited at venues around the region.
The first in a series of displays will be held at The Biscuit Tin Studios gallery in Warwick Street, Newcastle.
The show, which runs for two weeks, consists of a collection of textile pieces, paintings, calligraphy, silk and batik work produced by community groups and individuals in Chester-le-Street.
The exhibition preview will be held tomorrow (Saturday, January 31) between 2pm and 4pm
A spokeswoman for the company said: “WillyNillie artists would like to say a big thank-you to everyone who has contributed in helping create such a beautiful and diverse collection of art works for the show."
