TEESDALE residents are being encouraged to get involved in a new project designed to enhance the lives of rural communities.
The Enriching Rural Lives Project aims to enhance the health and wellbeing of people in Teesdale.
Focusing on mental and physical health, the programme hopes to deliver a range of workshops and support sessions that engage community members aged ten to 85.
There will be three elements to the project: intergenerational work, art workshops and access to sport and healthy lifestyle opportunities.
Tom Watson, of the Teesdale YMCA, which will be hosting the project, said: “Working with partners across Teesdale including the Heart of Teesdale Partnership, the leisure centre and local artists, we hope to provide a holistic program of activities that will benefit over 220 people as well as provide opportunities for 12 local artists to gain additional income."
Anyone interested in getting involved as a participant or as a local artist, can contact Lianne Steed on 01833 695780 or email lianne@teesdaleymca.com
