GRAFITTI artists have created a huge glowing artwork on the side of a former school.

The spectacular street art, which took a week to create, uses special ultraviolet paint that is illuminated at night to give it an ethereal blue glow.

The two storey high mural by artist Irony depicts Alice from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, with text painted in a “calligraffiti”

The work - titled ‘Alice in Chuterland’ - is at the former school, which is now the Chuter Ede Community Centre in South Shields.
