THE second half of the season got underway this week with league leaders The Masons A beating The Sun 10-1.

Following their shock defeat to The Royal, The Masons came out with all guns blazing and dominated proceedings against the league newcomers.

Victories for Ian McAninley, Dave Elliott, Lance Lyons and Dave Hogarth gave the home side a very comfortable win. Lee Atkins from The Sun managed to salvage their only point of the night.

Stanley Central chalked up another victory this week, narrowly beating The Board A 6-5. The Board started the stronger of the two sides taking five of the first eight frames.

However, The Central showed great resolve and took the remaining three frames to claim the match. The Board took a well deserved five points thanks to Harry Morris, Dan Johnson and Barry Stacey. The Central had victories for Glen Shaw, Adam Phillips, Mick Hoy, Paul Liddell and Mark Mosely.

The Royal beat The Board B 6-5. It was all one way traffic for The Royal initially, taking the first six frames to put the match beyond reach of their opponents.

The Board then came to life and took the remaining five frames to make the score line more respectable for them. The Royal had victories for Dave Darwood, Paul Reay, Stefan Jansen and Tom Daglish, whilst The Board claimed points thanks to Steve Irving, Mick Brown, Les Humphries and Stu Brown.

And finally, Tanfield Lea Club beat The Masons C 10-1. Still in search of their first win of the season, The Masons only managed to notch up one point thanks to Kev Young. Tanfield continued to impress with Chris Ellison, Matty Kirkbride, Paul Waite and Craig Webber claiming victories.
