AN amateur dramatic group is bringing its own snow to the festive season with its annual pantomime.

The Hutton Rudby Dramatic Society is this year staging The Snow Queen, a National Operatic and Dramatic association production by Ron Hall.

Producer Sam Joyce said: "I was inspired to choose a snowy theme following this year’s huge hit movie - Frozen, and thought it would be nice to bring a wintery feel to Hutton Rudby as it hasn't been done for a while."

The challenges have been wide for the technical team this year, with the pressure of bringing the snow inside, however - after a few trials and tribulations - the society feels it has managed to create a snowy spirit.

The society’s own members have created the backdrops and all the usual panto conventions are promised.

The show will be staged at the village hall at 7.30pm on January 9, 15, 16 and 17 with additional 2pm matinees pm January 10 and 17.

The dramatic society has played a key role in the local entertainment scene for decades and will be celebrating its centenary in 2020.
