A CAR burst into flames in a busy car park in Teesside on Monday.
The silver 4x4 was empty when the bonnet started smoking. It was parked outside the shops close to the Myton pub in Ingleby Barwick, near Stockton, when it burst into flames.
Fire crews from Thornaby used hosereels to put out the blaze.
Crew manager Steve Suggitt described it as a rare incident for the time of day. It is believed to have been caused by an electrical fault.
