ENGINEERING students at the University of Teesside have been awarded with prizes.

Prizes totalling £550 were given to four students completing mechanical engineering courses at the university.

Graduates Mohamed Jenaban and Jordan Hill, along with second year students Daniel Hill and Ross Gibson, all won awards from leading engineering firm ElringKlinger.

The company has strong links with Teesside University and has previously taken Teesside students on placement during their degree.

Ian Malcolm, ElringKlinger GB managing director said: “Education and skills continue to be high up on our agenda and we continue to support and recognise the need for promoting engineering as a career, to bridge the skills gap we are currently facing.

“It is always encouraging to see young people taking an interest and actively pursuing a career in the sector. Equipping students with the skills they need to establish themselves for a successful engineering future is something we hope to build on through our relationship with Teesside University.”
