A POP-punk four-piece is offering an alternative New Year’s Eve experience.

Durham-based Martha is to play a Halloween-themed party at the arts venue Empty Shop, off Framwelgate Bridge, in Durham City.

The band is promoting its debut album Courting Strong and offers impassioned political pop, inspired by Billy Bragg and the Beautiful South.

Also on the bill are Edinburgh-based The Spook School and American singer-songwriter Eric Ayotte.

There will also be DJs playing pop, punk and soul music.

The event starts at 8pm and continues until the early hours of 2015.

Fancy dress is encouraged. All ages are welcome. Under 16s may only attend with a responsible adult.
