A VETS practice is appealing to local pet lovers to donate food, treats and toys to brighten up Christmas for homeless cats and dogs.

Anyone wanting to support the campaign can call into White Cross Vets at The Parkway Centre in Coulby Newham, Middlesbrough, and put their donation into the collection box in the reception area.

All the donations will then be delivered to local charities Waterfall Kennels and Cat & Kitten Rescue in time for Christmas.

Rob Reid, clinic director at the practice, said: “We are hoping to bring joy to lost, abandoned and homeless cats and dogs over the Christmas period. The charities we are supporting do a fantastic job under difficult circumstances and they rely heavily on donations, so we’re delighted to be able to support them in this way.

“We’re collecting all types of wet and dry food, as well as toys and treats for the charities and all donations are welcome, whether it’s a single toy or tin of food or a whole sack full."

The appeal is running across White Cross Vets’ practices throughout the UK and the family run group hopes it will benefit hundreds of pets nationally.
