North Yorkshire Police said people should email or still call 999 if it is an emergency
POLICE forces around the region reported technical difficulties with the non-emergency number 101 earlier today.
The fault is believed to be a national issue, which was resolved at about 1pm.
All of the region's police forces issued alternative methods of getting in touch while the service was down.
