POLICE are appealing for information after a woman was raped in Hartlepool.
The woman was walking near to Oval Grange at about 1am on Thursday, October 30 when an unknown man approached her before carrying out the serious sexual assault and making off from the scene.
Officers are carrying out extra patrols in the area and are asking local residents to take a "common sense approach" but remain vigilant. The woman is receiving support from specially-trained officers.
Anyone who was in the area at the time or anyone with information is asked to contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
