TEESSIDE MPs are holding an urgent meeting with Business Secretary Vince Cable tomorrrow (MON) to demand assurances about the possible sale of Tata Steel.

The Redcar plant which employs about 1,300 workers has announced plans to sell its ‘long products’ division making innovative steel rail, rod, plate, sections to the Switzerland-based Klesch Group.

Prime Minister, David Cameron has pledged to take a personal interest in the proposed sale after being pressed by MPs in the House of Commons.
