Woman in hospital with serious injuries after road accident in Newton Aycliffe
A WOMAN has died after she was hit by a car in Newton Aycliffe on Friday night.
The 30-year-old pedestrian, who is yet to be named, sustained serious injuries after the accident which happened on Stephenson Way, at about 8.45pm.
The woman is thought to have suffered head and pelvic injuries and was rushed to the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough but later passed away.
Any witnesses who have not already come forward are asked to contact Durham Police by ringing 101.
