POLICE have appealed for information after a series of thefts from neighbouring gardens.
A number of youths are said to have gone into gardens in Jedburgh Road, in Shiney Row, on Wearside, before taking various ornaments and garden furniture, on Wednesday October 15.
Several solar lights were then smashed in the street, but a number of other items, including ornamental meerkat, dog and owl figures remain outstanding.
House to house inquiries have been staged in the area and inquiries are said to be “ongoing” to trace those involved in the thefts and what police describe as, “mindless vandalism”.
Anyone with information is asked to ring police on 101, extension 69191, quoting reference 1180 15/10/14, or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on its freephone line (0800) 55511.
