AN investigation is underway following a spate of burglaries in a former pit village.
Between 5pm on Wednesday, October 15, and 6.30am the following day thieves broke into two properties, in West Lane and Front Street South, in Trimdon Village, County Durham.
Untidy searches were carried out in both houses before the thieves made off with property.
A similar incident occurred at a house in Dunelm Road between 1pm on Wednesday, October 15, and 6.30am the next day.
Once again, an untidy search was made and property was stolen.
A man from Shotton Colliery has been arrested in relation to these burglaries and has been bailed pending further enquiries.
Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to contact Durham Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800-555-111.
