FOUR young girls have been threatened by two bandana-wearing youths, one carrying a knife.

The incident happened in Hoppers woods, behind Farnham Close, Newton Hall, Durham City, on Wednesday, September 3, between 5.30pm and 5.45pm.

Police say the four young girls were threatened by two unknown youths, one of whom is believed to have been carrying a knife.

One of the youths is described as male, white, aged 12 or 13, with short brown hair with a distinctive flick at the front. He was wearing a black hooded top with black strings, Nike football boots without studs and a bandana across his face.

The second is described as male, white, aged 12 or 13, with short blonde hair and a chubby face. He was wearing an orange hooded top with a blue Nike motif, orange tracksuit bottoms, grey Nike trainers and a bandana across his face.

Both youths were last seen shortly after the incident at the play area near Ghyll Field Road, Framwellgate Moor.

Durham Police are investigating and appealing for anyone with any information on the incident to call the non-emergency number, 101, and ask for the Framwellgate Moor beat team.
