A TEENAGE musician will see his name in lights after securing a sponsorship deal with an amateur football club.

In July, Newton Aycliffe Amateur Football Club launched a competition for businesses to win naming rights of its stadium, Moore Lane Park.

Tom Bussey, of Aux Audio, was one of many Newton Aycliffe companies entered into the draw after buying a ticket for £100.

The 18-year-old set up his small recording business to help local artists record their music and is thrilled at the prospect of increased publicity.

He said: “I know that I can make this business happen with all the backing and promotion from the new sponsorship and I’m so pleased to have won.”

The volunteer-run club raffled off the naming rights of its ground, now called the AuxAudio.co.uk Stadium, to drum up support from local business.

General manager Dan Lewis said: “The stadium naming rights was a great way for us to forge new links with the business community, with more than 20 names going into the hat, so from that point of view it was a very worthwhile exercise.”
