A BUSY main road is to be closed overnight for three weeks for repairs.
The A691 Framwellgate Peth through Durham City is to be resurfaced overnight between Monday, September 15, and Tuesday, October 7.
It will be closed from 7pm to 7am from the County Hall roundabout to, and including, the A690 Millburngate roundabout.
Durham County Council says the improvements are essential and work is being carried out overnight to reduce delays as much as possible.
The road will be open as usual from 7am to 7pm.
When the closure is enforced, diversions will be put in place.
John Reed, the council’s head of technical services, said: “This important work is part of our annual carriageway resurfacing programme.
“We are doing our best to keep disruption to a minimum by making sure the road closures are put in place overnight at times of low traffic flows.
“We thank residents for their patience in advance.”
