HOLIDAYMAKERS, day-trippers - and Meg the surfing dog - enjoyed a Indian summer day at Saltburn today (September 3).
The sun shone and temperatures reached 20 degrees celsius, way above the average 16 degrees for September.
A spokeswoman for the Met Office said the relative good weather will continue for the next two days although there may be a few clouds, especially in the morning.
However, there will be a drop in temperature to 16 degrees on Saturday when showers are due.
Meanwhile, Meg the dog, who regularly surfs at the seaside resort, can expect a few more sunny days on the board.
Co-owner, Alice Frost, 22, of nearby Marske, said her former boyfriend, Sam Davis, 34, has also taught Meg to perform various tricks on dry-land to entertain visitors.
"She loves surfing and she's a bit of a star," said Ms Frost, "she's even got her own Facebook page."
