AN evening of thrilling horse-racing and show-stopping fashion has raised thousands of pounds for a lifesaving charity.
Glamorous women from across the region donned their most colourful hats and fascinators and headed to Sedgefield Racecourse in County Durham for Roflow’s Ladies Evening last week.
The annual event combined all the thrills of the races, with first class entertainment and a best-dressed competition.
As always, fundraising played an important part in the festivities and this year more than £9,000 was raised for the Great North Air Ambulance.
Jill Williamson, executive director of Sedgefield Racecourse, said: “A huge thank you must go out to all the lovely ladies in attendance parading their beautiful summer outfits in their hundreds.
“The evening was a huge success and it felt fantastic to get back into racing after our summer break in June and July.”
