AN historic home built in the 1800s for the daughter of King William IV has officially opened its doors after an extensive renovation.
Richmond MP and former foreign secretary William Hague opened Rudby Hall, situated between Hutton Rudby and Stokesley in North Yorkshire, on Friday (August 29).
The Grade II-listed hall underwent extensive conversation and refurbishment over the summer to restore it to its former glory.
Now it has reopened as a luxury venue for weddings, events and accommodation. Its first bed and breakfast guest was rock star Liam Gallagher and his girlfriend Debbie Gwyther, who stayed for a few nights for a friend’s wedding in July.
At the official opening, Mr Hague was joined by 125 business professionals, local suppliers, political figures and Welcome to Yorkshire director for North Yorkshire, David Shields.
The renovation involved restoring original features within the Georgian style building including the ornate ceilings.
Rudby Hall was built in 1838 for the daughter of King William IV, Lady Amelia Cary and her husband the 10th Viscount Falkland.
