PREPARATIONS are under way for a free family-friendly live music event due to be held in a North-East park.
Proms in the Park will be held in South Park, Darlington, on Saturday, September 13.
Live music will be performed from 4pm at the band stand in South Park in which visitors are encouraged to bring along picnics, seating, and warm clothing to enjoy this year’s line-up.
Spectators will welcome the musical talents of local bands including the Royal Signal (Northern) Band, Hurworth Concert Band, Newton Aycliffe Pipes and Drums, and Central and East Yorks Wing ATC Section 1 Band.
Jake Tompkins, managing director of the event's sponsor Modus Seabed Intervention, said: “Following last year’s hugely successful inauguration by the mayor, we are delighted to be able to sponsor the Darlington Proms in the Park for a second year.
“This is a fantastic family event which we are proud to support, and we would encourage everyone to come along.”
Modus will be supported throughout the event by the Northern Military Music Group.
