IT was not your usual appearance in front of a camera for Cleveland Police's Chief Constable Jacqui Cheer.

But after being nominated by one of the force's police officers she felt obliged to take part in the phenomenon that is the 'ice bucket challenge'.

The video was posted on Youtube today.

Prior to the dunking Ms Cheer said: "I would like to thank the police officer in Coulby Newham who nominated me for this challenge.

"I have made my donation on the site today and I would like to nominate the Chief Constable of Durham Mr Mike Barton, my wonderful staff officer, who is going to throw the water over me, Nick Hunt, and my new ACC, Simon Nickless, to take the challenge in the next 24 hours."

NO EINSTEIN says...

Are we really paying this woman a hundred thousand pounds plus a year to carry on like some juvenile delinquent at the taxpayers expense. Like i've said about Cleveland many times its a case of "do as i say not as i do."
