A TEENAGE shop assistant was threatened with a knife during a robbery at an off licence on Bank Holiday Monday.
The 19-year-old woman was at work at Booze Busters in Dalton Way, Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, when the robber entered at about 6.30pm on Monday, August 25.
The man produced a large knife and demanded money and alcohol, before leaving with a quantity of cash and two one litre bottles of Bells whisky.
The shop assistant, although physically unharmed, was extremely distressed after the incident.
A 35-year-old man has been arrested in relation to the incident and released on police bail pending further enquiries.
