SUNDERLAND AFC owner Ellis Short has nominated his Newcastle counterpart Mike Ashley to take the ice bucket challenge.
The chairman of the Wearside club also called on Magpies manager Alan Pardew and player Jack Colback - who controversially left Sunderland on a free transfer to join Newcastle earlier this year - to take part.
A YouTube clip shows Mr Short having a bucket of ice poured over him while sitting on a chair wearing a suite at the Stadium of Light.
The water is poured by players Wes Brown and John O'Shea.
Mr Ellis tells viewers he was nominated by midfielder Adam Johnson, who he says will now be fined by the club and the money passed to charity, the ALS Association.
