A 16-year-old girl was approached by a middle-aged male driver who tried to get her into his car.
Police are appealing for information after the incident in Skinningrove, East Cleveland, on Friday, August 15.
The girl was walking through Skinningrove, near to the Mill at about 10.15am when a silver car slowed down near to her and the male driver asked her several times to get into the car.
She refused and the man drove off.
He is described as white, 50 years old, clean shaven, of average build with short brown greying hair and wearing black framed glasses.
Anyone with information is asked to call the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800-555-111.
