TWO men have been refused bail after both were charged with the rape of a woman outside a night club.
Kristofer Ryan McLaren, 20, of Rymer Way, Thirsk, has been charged with two counts of rape sometime between midnight and 2.30am on Sunday, August 10, near Club Amadeus in Northallerton.
Craig Mathew Whitelaw, 20, of Sutton-under-Whitestonecliffe, Thirsk, has been charged with two counts of rape and two further counts of sexual assault at the same place and time.
The pair appeared at Northallerton Magistrates’ Court today (August 12). Neither entered a plea and a court date was set for Friday, August 29 at Teesside Crown Court.
Both men were denied bail and were remanded in custody.
