NEWCASTLE United are holding an open training day next week (Tuesday, August 12).

The Magpies’ first team will hold an open training session in front of their fans at the 52,000-seater St James’ Park.

There will also be a fanzone with face painting, a football cage, climbing wall and more.

Gates to the fanzone and the East Stand will open at 9am.

The first team will train from 10.30am to 12.20pm and the event closes at 2pm.

Club managing director Lee Charnley said: “We have held similar open training sessions in previous years that were simply focused on the players but we wanted this to be an event which is really centred around our supporters and their families.

“It will be the first opportunity many fans will have to see the new squad together so we hope as many supporters can come along as possible before we head into the new season.”

The event is free. For further details, visit nufc.co.uk
