EMERGENCY services are in attendance after reports a house was struck by lightning and caught fire during a thunderstorm.
Firefighters were called to Goose Green Close, in Scotton, near Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire, shortly before 5.30pm this evening.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said crews from Catterick were currently still at the scene.
He said: "The reports were of a roof on fire after a lightning strike.
"There was a small fire in the roof and crews are still in attendance, helping to salvage property at the house."
Parts of the North-East and North Yorkshire have been battered by heavy rain and thunderstorms in the past few hours.
