TEACHERS are celebrating after they were judged to be good during a recent Ofsted inspection.

The Government inspection team visited Byerley Pre-School, on Chapel Street, in Shildon.

Susan Calvert, a registered provider at the pre-school, said: “We are all delighted to have been awarded a good rating once again.

“It shows that we have a proven track record of maintaining a high quality of care and education for all of the children which we have in the pre-school.

“All of our practitioners are dedicated to the children and so this result is an excellent reflection of their hard work.”

The inspectors found that the children developed confidence and independence and this meant that they made good progress in all areas of learning and development.

Staff members were rated as good by the Ofsted team. The teaching quality was deemed good and the teachers were found to have a sound knowledge of the children.

Partnerships with parents and other agencies are good as is the leadership and management of the pre-school.
