A LITTER of piglets are set to be a big hit in a charity's petting barn.

The six piglets, less than two weeks old, are the offspring of Poppy - a fairly long-standing resident of Daisy Chain's barn.

The two pink piglets have been named ‘Postcode’ and ‘Lottery’ in tribute to the organisation that provides the autism charity with a regular source of funding.

The four black ones are being named during a series of school visits to Calf Fallow Farm, the home of the charity, in Norton, Stockton.

“We’re pretty sure one of them will be called Peppa before the end of the week,” said Sarah Kirkman, media and communications officer at the charity.

Hazel Johnstone, Trusts Manager at People’s Postcode Lottery, said: “We’re sure that players of People’s Postcode Lottery are thrilled to hear that Daisy Chain have named one of their piglets, Postcode, to represent over £550,000 of funding from players of People’s Postcode Lottery to date.

"The piglets are a fantastic addition to Daisy Chain’s petting barn, which provides valuable interaction and development for the children Daisy Chain supports."

The piglets have already become a firm favourite with everyone at the farm, but they have been warned not to get too attached. Once the piglets are three months old the charity plans to sell them.
