The 161st Sedgefield Show will take place at the Robert Brown Showfield at West Park on Saturday, August 9.
Organised by Sedgefield and District Agricultural and Horticultural Society, the show is a celebration of agriculture and country life.
This year, countryside enthusiasts can expect an action-packed programme of events, with organisers anticipating unprecedented numbers of trade stands, entrants and attendees.
As well as the horse, pony, cattle, sheep and dairy goat classes, there will be vintage tractors, classic motor cycles, small livestock and a horticultural tent full of flowers and vegetables.
The food hall will offer a large choice of local and regional delicacies and there will be plenty of crafts and home produce to buy
Other highlights will include a musical pony display, a dog agility contest and a novelty dog show, where pooches are judged on everything from ear length to tail “wagginess.”
Live music will be provided by Trimdon Concert Brass Band and a fun fair and go-karts will keep children entertained.
Gates open at 10am and tickets cost £6 for adults and £4 for concessions.
Youngsters under five go free and a family ticket, for two adults and two children, is available for £15.
