SUPPORTERS will gather tomorrow (Tuesday) night as a rugby player completes the final leg of a gruelling charity challenge.

Durham City Rugby Club forward Kenneth Reader is trying to run 10km every day for 100 days in a row to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.

The 26-year-old hopes to complete his final run in front of friends and well-wishers at club in Green Lane Durham starting at 7pm.

Kenneth set off on his epic challenge in memory of his late great uncle Solly Reader and hopes to have raised more than £6,000 by the time he crosses the finishing line on his 100th run.

Afterwards, Kenneth will be guest of honour at a celebratory barbecue to mark his achievement.

A spokesman for the Alzheimer’s Society said: “I think what Kenneth has done is truly extraordinary.

“As well as raising lots of money for invaluable services for people with dementia, he has also helped us raise a huge amount of awareness as he has pounded the streets of here, there and everywhere else over the last few months”.
