A PEDESTRIAN who was knocked over and killed while walking home along a lane between two villages has been named by police.
Kevin Andrew McLoughlin, 45, of Pelton Fell, near Chester-le-Street, County Durham, was walking westbound along the B6313 at Bluehouse Bank from Pelton Fell towards Grange Villa at about 11.30pm on Thursday night (July 24) when he was struck by a Ford Transit Tipper vehicle travelling in the same direction.
Mr McLoughlin suffered a fatal head injury and was confirmed dead at the scene.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the victim or the vehicle shortly before the accident, is asked to call Durham Police on the non-emergency number 101 and ask for the collision investigation unit.
