POLICE carrying out door-to-door enquiries following the death of a Middlesbrough woman came across a cannabis farm.

The plants were found in the house in Beaumont Road, North Ormesby at around 9.40am this morning.

Officers were investigating the death of Teresa Ryan of nearby Warton Street. Her body was discovered following a house fire last Wednesday.

"Plants were discovered across two floors of the property and current estimations suggest there are around 100 plants," a spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said. "Officers remain on scene and enquiries are continuing."

Anyone with information is asked to call Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
