A MARILYN Monroe look-alike brought a touch of glamour to the opening of an exhibition of show business memorabilia.

The iconic actress is just one of a host of stars featured in Celebrity Movie Treasures which runs until October 19, at Kirkleatham Museum, near Redcar.

The Redcar and Cleveland Council event is the second paid-for exhibition in the museum’s history costing £2 for adults and £1 for children but under-fives go free.

Olwyn Peters, cabinet member for culture, leisure and tourism, said she hoped as many people as possible would support the event.

Councillor Peters said: “The last exhibition we held, Invasion, was extremely successful and we’re hoping that this one proves to be just as popular.

“Holding paid-for exhibitions like this allows us to bring in a different kind of offer to residents and visitors while safeguarding cultural services elsewhere in the borough.”

Items linked to the likes of pop stars Rhianna and Michael Jackson as well as movie stars John Travolta and Elizabeth Taylor will be on display.
