A DARLINGTON club was transformed into a scene from the Wild West to raise funds to help adults with learning difficulties.
The Springfield Resource Centre, in Darlington, organised the country and western-style event, which raised £628 for the centre, which supports adults with physical and learning disabilities.
A miniature horse called Blondie was on hand to entertain guests at Cockerton Band Club, in Woodland Road, Darlington, while Avondale Lodge, a supported living service in Redcar, baked more than 100 cupcakes for the event.
Music was also provided by guitarist George Hardy – the father of one of the service users.
Service manager Catherine Corner said: “The staff and service users at the day service worked tirelessly for the weeks up to the event to make decorations, organise games, raffles and bake cookies and provide the food.
“The event brought together people from all over Darlington who have a learning disability to enjoy a care free evening of the Wild West.”
The centre will host a top hat and tiara Christmas party on December 13.
