A WOMAN has been treated in hospital after being knocked out when she was attacked at the weekend.

The 31-year-old suffered facial injuries after she was assaulted in Hartlepool at around 5am on Sunday, July 6.

She woman was walking home along Clarence Road and Lancaster Road in the town when she came across a group of around seven people. She engaged in conversation with the group, when it’s believed she was knocked unconscious.

The victim was to a nearby address by passers-by before being taken to North Tees General Hospital, where she was later released.

Police want identify two from the group, one is a white man, between 22 and 23 years of age, slim build, with blond or brown shoulder length curly hair. The second is a white woman, between 23 and 24 years old, slim build, bright red dyed hair, wearing a dark hooded top. It is believed that they may be from the Peterlee area.
