A TEENAGER is to appear in court today (Saturday) after being charged with robbing a 75-year-old woman in the street.
The alleged incident happened on Saturday, June 14 at 11.30pm in Arundel Way, Meadowfield, Durham.
Police say the victim was grabbed from behind and thrown to the ground, before her bag, containing a purse, mobile phone and some cash was stolen.
Last night, Michael Kingshott, 18, and from Holyoake Street, Pelton, was charged by police in connection with the offence. He will appear before Peterlee Magistrates later today.
