VOLUNTEERS hoping to win the Northumbria in Bloom competition have erected hanging baskets to improve the area.
Members of the Endeavour Woodcrafts CIC, a group for adults in Ferryhill with learning disabilities, have helped boost the town’s entry with the floral displays.
They have hung the baskets around the town and have planted flowerbeds on Dean Road and the A167.
Councillor Zena Roddam, the council’s portfolio holder for Ferryhill in Bloom, said “I would like to thank Endeavour for their hard work in planting the baskets and for helping to improve the appearance of the town.
“I would also like to thank council gardener Peter Stobbs for once again supporting Endeavour and helping individual members to plant their baskets.”
