VINTAGE car enthusiasts enjoyed viewing a large number of classic vehicles which were on show in Ferryhill.

The display featured more than 200 vehicles and it included cars, motorbikes, tractors, miniature stream engines and also stationary engines.

The Ferryhill Vintage Rally drew in exhibitors from across the region including one from Hexham, in Northumberland, who brought along a 1938 French-made Delage car.

Visitors could also view a large number of model displays by visiting exhibitors and crafts which were on show.

This was the eighth annual show vintage vehicle show in Ferryhill organised by the Durham County Vintage Collectors Society.

It took place at the Mainsforth Sports Complex, in Ferryhill, over Saturday and Sunday.

Colin Larcombe, the society’s vice-chairman, said: “It was a very successful day and there was a good crowd.

“There was getting on towards 200 exhibitors there and they come from all over the place. It meant that there was a good selection of vehicles on show from the pre-war and post-war years.

“Some of the society members were also present at the event to show off their vehicles too.”

Several charities were on the site across the weekend as volunteers collected for good causes.
