Emergency crews were called to a traffic accident involving three vehicles on the A1M in North Yorkshire today (Sunday, June 15).
Police, paramedics and fire crews from Bedale, Northallerton, Richmond and Ripon were called to the collision on the northbound carriageway near Leeming junction.
The accident involved a large goods vehicle, a car and a car towing a caravan. Nobody was trapped, but one woman had to be helped out through the boot of her car by fire fighters due to damage to the vehicle door. She was given a precautionary check-up by paramedics at the scene, but did not require hospital treatment.
The accident happened at 12.50pm. The northbound carriageway was closed and diversions put in place.
