POLICE are trying to trace a man who went missing from hospital after giving a false name.
The man was found at Heworth Metro station, Gateshead, on Sunday, April 20, and taken to hospital.
However, on Thursday, May 1, he went missing and it emerged he had given police a false name and details.
He told officers he had been homeless for about two weeks.
The man is described as white, aged 30 or 31, 5ft 7ins tall, of medium build.
He was last seen wearing a black top, khaki green trousers and black trainers.
He had dirty blonde hair which was shoulder length at the back and short on top. He had a full, thin beard and speaks with a southern accent.
Police have released CCTV images of the man from hospital. Anyone with information on his identity or whereabouts is asked to call the police on 101.
