A RECORD number of exhibits, including the world’s oldest tractor, will be displayed at a festival to celebrate agricultural and vintage vehicles.

Tractor Fest, which will be held at Newby Hall, near Ripon, today (Saturday, June 7) and tomorrow, from 11am to 6pm, has attracted 1,300 exhibitors, with some travelling from Germany and Holland.

The weekend will showcase hundreds of tractors, cars, lorries, stationary engines and motorcycles and includes the March of the Tractors, a parade of tractors from the historic home to city’s market square today, from 5pm to 6pm.

Exhibits include the 1903 Ivel tractor and a vintage 1922 Packard car, which was used for the mail run from Adelaide to Breckon Hill in Australia, but is now restored to its former glory.

The festival’s featured tractor is any single cylinder type, while the stationary engine to be showcased is the Lister.

There will also be a world record attempt to bring together the largest gathering of Mogul tractors, as well as an exhibition of Ford cars through the.

The Yorkshire Vintage Association event will also feature vintage tractor pulling, free tractor and trailer rides, interactive exhibits, working machinery, food outlets and trade stands.
